The full moon sets during sunrise. My oldest daughter says it best, “The moon reflects the sun.”

I stuck around. Why not? The whole Coyote Buttes North is a Candy Land for a landscape photographer. I shot the famous Wave last. Had it all to myself.

Diamonds Amongst Diamonds

Tucked away on the border of Arizona and Utah lies the infamous Wave. The difficulty of the hike departing from the Wire Pass trailhead pales in comparison to simply being one of the 20 lucky people that secure a permit each day. While most are satisfied riding The Wave, the entire Coyote Buttes North area is a gem to behold.

A few waves glowing from reflected sunlight hitting the canyon walls. The stains you see here are from plants hanging above. How life living in Coyote Buttes North survives is beyond me. The will to live is strong.
